The hardware currently consists of modular nodes (D1M BLOCKS) and a custom RaspberryPi router with Onboarding and MQTT (coming soon).
The software includes a Blockly editor (D1M BLOCKLY) for visual drag & drop programming. This leverages the great product Ardublockly, to compile and deploy the arduino code onto the IOT nodes.
D1M BLOCKS are based on the Wemos D1 Mini WiFi boards and their shields.
We have developed and published a simple casing (that can be 3D printed) for the WiFi board and its shields to make them modular and relatively safe.

D1M BLOCKLY is a visual editor based on Google Blockly 'that represents coding concepts as interconnecting blocks'.
What makes Blockly particularly well suited to the D1M BLOCKS is the pins are already preconfigured in the shields, and this is already reflected in the Blockly Blocks you use. This makes the configuration of the blocks very simple.
If the BlocklyDuino server is running on your system, you can compile and upload directly from the D1M BLOCKLY webpage.
All of the standard D1M BLOCKS have Blockly assemblies defined, so getting a IOT node up and running can take just minutes.
Many of the ESP8266 Core Arduino libraries have examples included in D1M BLOCKLY (via Templates), so finding a solution to your particular problem may be as east as 1 2 3.
